2 Basset Brewing Overview
Chris and Barry Hedrich opened 2 Basset Brewery in February of 2016. When it comes to the namesake of the brewery, the Hedrich’s owned two basset hounds when the brewery opened – Stanley and Leroy. The bassets are the subject of the logo, the inspiration for many of the beers and common visitors of the brewery. Barry started as a home brewer before bringing the popular craft brewery to White Sulphur Springs. It’s not rare to find Barry and Chris in the taproom and they are quick to strike up a conversation. For the owners and staff, it’s all about the people who come through the brewery and to share a beer among friends – both new and old. White Sulphur Springs is settled in the Smith River Valley. This charming community boasts a natural hot springs, is a short drive from Showdown Ski Area, and is an ideal basecamp for excursions into the Smith River Canyon. While in town there are a number of dining options, wonderful opportunities for recreation, and the Castle Museum. The biggest event of the year is the Red Ants Pants Music Festival which is held the last weekend in July.
